BAREILLY: A 70-year-old man was killed in a road
accident at Bukhara under Cantonment police station on Wednesday.
Prem Pal was run over by a fast-moving truck. According to police, after feeding his cattle, Pal was resting at the roadside when a truck mowed him down.
Local villagers blocked traffic after the accident. They demanded the driver’s immediate arrest.
Police reached the spot, pacified the angry crowd and restored traffic movement. Pal’s body was sent for post-mortem.

Ashok Kumar, said, “Pal worked as a farmer. He went to his field, around 500 metres from his house. After feeding cattle, he was resting at the roadside when a speeding mini truck struck him and fled from the site. On hearing the screams, villagers reached the place and blocked traffic movement. Receiving information, we rushed to the spot.”
“We sent Pal to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. We haven’t received any complaint letter yet,” the SHO added.
